Cyprus grayling - Hipparchia pellucida

Family: Satyridae

Flight Time: April - October

Size: 46-52mm

Altitude: ?m

Like a large number of species of Hipparchia the Cyprus grayling has a limited range in the far east of Europe. It has quite a marked white band and like most graylings will try to be as inconspicuous as possible by angling its wings to leave no shadow. This can make photography quite tricky.
