Little tiger blue - Tarucus balkanicus

Altitude: 50-850 m

This attractively marked blue is one of three similar species in Europe. Identification was easy in this case as it is the only one which flies on Cyprus. The male and female uppersides are different. The male is blue (below right) and the female predominantly brown (below left).

It is a very small species, requiring some care to get a good shot.
